What Do You Choose?
The journey to my 50th Birthday has been an amazing experience.
As a child my parents made my decisions. As I grew older, I began to choose and decide things for myself, and eventually with years of practice, I became the divine creator of my own existence. It has been an epic journey from dependence to empowerment.
For me it all comes down to choice. I am choosing to live the life I wish to live.
I am responsible for my own life and all the decisions that are made.
That means I receive the full benefit of the joy and bliss as well as the pain and sadness for all the choices I make. To know that I get to choose and create what I wish to have has empowered me to go, to try things, to take chances, to love more deeply, to eat more appreciatively, to cherish every moment both good and challenging.
I write this blog from a flat in London.
I am holding a hot cup of tea with the windows open listening to the life moving three stories below me. I await the arrival of my oldest daughter as she will join her sister, her father and I for this trip.
The day is filled with options and right now I am enjoying the thought of all of them.
This day will be what I choose it to be, what will you choose today?
The Road Less Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
