What this last New Moon of 2017 is trying to tell you, about YOU

My oh my, have you been feeling the energy lately?  This Mercury in Retrograde has zapped my energy, and many others have felt the same way.  Thank goodness we only have a few days until Mercury goes direct again!

Can you believe we are closing in on the end of 2017?  Where did 2017 go?  It went by in a flash, by far the fastest year of my life so far.  Do you feel the same?

I’d like to share some things with you; things that I hope encourage you to take a look within yourself and your own life as we prepare for the closing of another year of our lives, and the arrival of a new one.

Today marks the last new moon of 2017, with the winter solstice fast approaching in 3 days.  The first day of winter means longer darkness between sunset to sunrise.  Symbolically, this is Mother Nature’s cue for us to find more rest and stillness in our lives.  Also symbolically, our sister moon encourages us to be more still during her new moon phase.  So what I am saying is we are receiving the messages twofold to BE STILL and REST!

Typically, when I write about the new moon phase, I share that this is a time to focus on your manifestations, and yes that is still true.  But today I want to go deeper.

Do you know that the moon controls the ocean tides?  She controls the ebbs and flows of all bodies of water, and that includes humans bodies too.  Because the human body is comprised of about 60% water, that means we too are controlled by the phases of the moon.

According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%.

Let’s go deeper now.

The brain and the heart are comprised of 73% water.

The brain is affected by stress.  Stress is an emotion, and sadly the only emotion recognized by allopathic medicine to affect the body.  Truth be told, the human body is made of energy, and affected by all things, all emotions.  The rest of this discussion is based on Chinese medicine and how emotions affect the body.

So how are your stress levels lately? Are you feeling anxious or experiencing brain fog?  For this new moon, its time to monitor your stress levels and create new ways to manage your stress, because if you feel stressed out, then you have not yet figured out how to manage it, right?!

One recommendation: MOVE YOUR BODY to release stagnant energy.  Dance, exercise, walk, hike, anything that provides focused movement for the body.

The emotion associated with the heart is JOY.  Now initially you may think of joy as happy.  However, all of life is about polarity.  There is either a deficiency or excess,  just as there is dark and light, up and down, right and left.  Life is about finding the sweet spot of balance.

In excess, joy presents itself as agitation, whereas a deficiency is depression.  So what can you see within yourself during this new moon? Are you agitated, feeling depressed, or have you found the sweet spot and are joyful?

One recommendation: LISTEN TO GUIDED MEDITATIONS to bring you into the present moment.  Conscious awareness of the present moment assists us in finding balance in life, since we are able to distinguish between the past and the future (as most people live in either one of those instead).

Let’s move onto the lungs, which is comprised of 83% water and associated with grief.  At this time of the new moon, you may be experiencing emotions of grief (as our lungs are around 83% water), this would make sense that this emotion would come forth.  During this time, what you want to observe within yourself, (and also be compassionate with others) is that as this emotion comes up, do you stuff it, ignore it, let it all out, or vomit it on everyone around you?

It’s important to note that its ok to feel grief, in fact when it comes up for you (as it an emotion no one is exempt from) the best thing you can do is let it all out, because if you don’t, eventually it will manifest into a physical issue.  What you want to note within yourself is, is your grief in excess or deficient?  Again, deficiency is the inability to allow it to be present and move out, whereas excess is vomiting it on everyone around you.  It is important for you to be honest with your own feelings, but you do not have to include everyone around you.  So the question here is: can you express your grief to yourself openly, allowing yourself to experience it, knowing it too shall pass?

One recommendation: Breath work, pranayama.  Practice daily deep breathing.  Relax your belly and allow your belly to grow big on the inhale, and then as you exhale pull the belly button all the way into the spine.  Do this for 5 minutes a day.  You can do it in the car, while you work, etc.  as you do not have to have your eyes closed.  On each inhale and exhale, do them to the count of 5.

The kidneys are 79% water and are associated with fear.  Fear is an emotion that can stem from other emotions and unresolved conflicts.  It will present itself as insomnia or chronic adrenal fatigue leaving you feeling exhausted.  Back pain can also be related to fear, as the kidneys are felt from the mid to lower backside.  Urination frequency is important to take note of also.

One recommendation: STRETCH THE BODY.  As fear prevents us from letting go, it causes us to tighten in our muscles and joints.  Providing stretches for your body brings flexibility to it, and you’ll begin to notice flexibility in your mind and emotions as well.

So now that we’ve covered different emotions, what organs are associated with them, and how the organs and emotions are affected by the moon because we are comprised of water, you can see the importance of going deeper to understand what we are experiencing at this time.

When a woman’s body is in sync with the moon phases, the new moon represents the time of menstruation.  If you look up the very definition of menstruation, it states:

“the process in a woman of discharging blood and other materials from the lining of the uterus at intervals of about one lunar month from puberty until menopause, except during pregnancy.”

There she is, “lunar month”, and the lunar cycles of the moon are every 28 days, just like our periods (give or take a few days).

New moons are the time for which a woman bleeds, releasing toxins and emotional blocks.  Think about how emotional you are around your period, I know I am.

Now, as we are a society living in ways which are so extremely different than many decades ago, some of us are out of sync with the moon cycles and our times of menstruation.  Not to worry though.  Finding balance is a part of life.  Just knowing the time in which you menstruate in conjunction with the timing of the phase of the moon will help you become more aware of your feminine body and its connection with our sister moon.

New moons are a time of manifesting yes, but more so about creation and planting seeds.  What in your life do you want to create? What “seeds” do you need to plant today, that you would like to nurture so that as the New Year approaches, (which will be the full moon on January 1st), you will see your seeds growing towards fruition?

Treat your body as the temple it is, the connected Goddess.

Meditate tonight as you lay down in bed, visualizing your sacral chakra, the space between your hip bones just underneath your belly button, and see a glowing orange ball of energy there.  Take note within your mind’s eye its intensity of color, of size, of vibration.

Cleanse your body by choosing to drink lots of water and eat only highly vibrational foods (plant foods are alive and carry high vibrations whereas processed foods are heavy and dense vibrationally and carry lower vibrations).

Rest.  Understand that the seeds within the soil do not hurry to grow above the ground. They take their time knowing that everything is in Divine Order.  Stillness creates the clarity necessary to see what 2018 holds for your journey.

Happy New Moon to You!

“BE-ing” in the Full Moon

Today, June 20th, marks another full moon for 2016 and also the official 1st day of summer with the Summer Solstice. Today also marks exactly one month since we’ve returned to Arizona for a breather from our 8 month East Coast journey in our 5th wheel RV.  This past month has been “FULL” of emotions and memories for me, accompanied with a deeper sense of meaning to this human experience. Focusing Into Manifestation

Today marks a new moon which means another opportunity for manifesting!  New moons usher in new perspectives, new beginnings and new opportunities.  I’ve been thinking the past few days about this and how I want to work on my manifestations this time around.  I have had numerous people contact me who have noticed the calendar marking this time as a new moon, and asking me to “tell them again” what they are suppose to do, so I figured I would share this with all of you.
